At least 24 people were injured after a vehicle crashed with a New Jersey Transit bus in Union on Friday morning.
According to Union Township Police Director Christopher Donnelly, the incident occurred around 7:20 a.m. near Stuyvesant Avenue and Pleasant Parkway.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction of the bus crossed over the double yellow lines and struck the NJ Transit bus head-on,” according to Donnelly.
First responders from the Union Fire Department, as well as mutual aid from adjacent communities, arrived on the site to evaluate the patients. Police said that 24 people were injured, but none of them appeared to be life-threatening.
