Alba Golden had their way with the Linden-Kildare Tigers as they routed them 38-0 Friday night.
Despite the shutout, the Tigers displayed positive traits that could help them throughout the season. Evan Mitchell, who was the player of the game, filled in for starting quarterback JaKyric Nard, who was unable to play due to an injury sustained in opening week.
Mitchell was able to withstand most of the Alba Golden pressure.
Running the ball was Linden-Kildare’s biggest problem. The Panthers shut down Linden-Kildare’s ground game.
Linden-Kildare’s defense stopped the Panthers twice inside the 5-yard line in the first half.
The Tigers go on the road on Friday, Sept. 9 to take on Big Sandy, the alma mater of Houston Texans coach Lovie Smith.
