Atlanta High School “Ironworkers” Compete at State

ABILENE, Texas – 500 of the strongest boys in Texas from all classifications converged on the Taylor County Expo Hall in Abilene Saturday for the The Texas High School State Powerlifting Meet.  The Atlanta Ironworkers team had 5 lifters, 2 medalist, and 3 Academic All-State members this year.


Senior Jacob Nash medaled in 3rd Place with a 1375lb total in the 165Lb weight class.  Jacob had a career best 340lb Bench Press.   He was also named to the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Academic All-State Elite Team.

Sophomore Tyrell King had a career high 1590lbs to medal in 5th place in the 275lb class.  Tyrell squated 630lbs, benched 390lbs, and dead lifted 570lbs which were all personal and team best this year!

Senior Clayton Mosley had a career best 1385lb total to place 6th in the 181lb weight class.  Clayton was also named to the THSPA Academic All-State 2nd Team.

Sophomore Trey Adams totaled 1370lbs to place 8th in the 220lb weight class.  Trey tied his career best 500lb dead lift.

Junior Cade Fant had a personal best 535lb squat and a 1390lb total to place 11th in the 242lb weight class.

4-time regional qualifier Dalton Johnson was also named to the THSPA Academic All-State 2nd Team.
