5-year-old in Critical Condition After School Bus Collides With Car on S.C. Highway 321

The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) verified that a 5-year-old child was rushed to the hospital after a school bus crash in Lexington County.

The accident occurred on Tuesday on S.C. Highway 321 near the intersection of Woodcote Drive.

According to troopers, the incident included a bus and a 2018 Honda automobile with two occupants.

The bus driver had a 5-year-old backseat passenger who, according to authorities, needed to be rushed to the hospital due to life-threatening injuries. The driver was also brought to the hospital for critical injuries.

According to a statement from Lexington County School District Two, six pupils on the bus at the time of the crash were taken to the hospital but not admitted.

“After Tuesday’s accident, 6 bus riders were taken for further medical evaluation and later released, with no one admitted to the hospital,” the district informed me.

Troopers say the Highway Patrol MAIT team is aiding with the investigation.
