OXFORD, Ohio —A 20-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Oxford on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the intersection of South Main Street and East Spring Street. The intersection was closed while police arrived at the area.
The incident occurred just a few blocks from Miami University. It is unclear whether the woman who was hit was a university student.
According to police, a Jeep Wrangler was driving west on Spring Street when it collided with the woman “near a crosswalk.”
The crash victim was transported by AirCare to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition.
An inquiry into the crash is ongoing. Currently, no arrests have been made in relation to the crash.
The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to help the Oxford Division of Police with the crash investigation. The investigation into the specifics of the crash is ongoing and is expected to take many days.
