Three Students and Driver Injured in Union County School Bus Crash, Road Closed for Probe

UNION COUNTY, N.C. – A school bus drove into the woods in Union County on Wednesday, injuring three students and the driver, according to the sheriff’s office.

The accident occurred Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, on Mill Grove Road, when the school bus was delivering kids to Porter Ridge High School.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office claims that the school bus drove off the road on a bend, injuring three pupils and the bus driver.

According to deputies, there were 33 pupils on board when the collision occurred. According to them, everyone who reported an injury was either treated on the spot or directed to a doctor.

Mill Grove Road is closed Wednesday as deputies investigate the accident.
