Tragic Collision in Jackson Springs: 17-year-old William Hagerty Loses Life on Wet Road Curve

On Tuesday morning, a tragic event claimed the life of a 17-year-old child who was residing in Moore County.

It was just after 9:40 in the morning when the adolescent, William Hagerty, was driving down Rose Ridge Road in Jackson Springs and came to a curve, as stated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

According to the troopers, he lost control of the vehicle when it was maneuvering around that curve, ran off the road, and collided with a ditch. After that, the vehicle rolled for some 270 feet, colliding with a cluster of trees, and finally coming to a stop in an upright posture.

The fact that Hagerty was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision was verified by the troopers. The conditions of the road were wet at the time that he ran off the road, and they also stated that speed was a contributing factor in the accident.
