A Freeze Warning blankets the region as South-Central Texas braces for its first frost of the season, set to descend tonight. Residents are gearing up for the icy chill, marking a dramatic shift in the weather and the start of winter’s frosty grip.
There is a possibility that temperatures may drop into the upper 20s and low 30s, with the Hill Country and valleys of the southern Edwards Plateau being the areas that will see the coldest temperatures. Wind chills will be pushed even lower due to a gentle breeze, enhancing the chill.
The region has been swept by chilly, dry air as a result of gusty gusts that reached speeds of more than 30 miles per hour earlier today. Overnight, temperatures will drop significantly, although persistent breezes may keep temperatures from falling considerably more.
