Southern Colorado to Experience Snow Tonight, Brief Snowfall Possible Along Continental Divide Friday

The southern region of Colorado is bracing itself for a significant amount of snowfall tonight, particularly in the Sangre de Cristo and Wet Mountains and the southern corridor of Interstate 25.

The National Weather Service anticipates that the snowfall will decrease by the time the sun rises on Tuesday, leaving behind much milder flakes in other areas.

The biting cold will continue, with wind chills anticipated to be quite high on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. By the middle of the week, temperatures will continue to be below normal.

After clearing the snow, conditions will become more stable, with a majority of dry weather and temperatures that are close to average predicted through the weekend.

However, there is a possibility that there will be a brief snowfall along the Continental Divide on Friday.

Residents living in the affected areas should get ready for roads that are slippery and nightly low temperatures that could dip to single digits in higher elevations with the cold weather.
