Delaware Man Accused of Hitting Family Member in Hit-and-run, Stealing Wallet, and Fleeing Scene

Delaware State Police say the driver engaged in a pedestrian hit-and-run at Route 4 and Marrows Road is related to his victim.

According to police, the 38-year-old man John Arce who was hit and critically injured in a gas station parking lot last Wednesday is a family member.

Arce allegedly got out of his car, stole the victim’s wallet, got back in, and drove away after hitting him at high speed.

The person has been hospitalized due to significant injuries.

Arce, who turned himself in on Friday, is being held at Howard Young Prison on accusations of assault, robbery, reckless endangerment, and possessing a deadly weapon while committing a felony.
