Man Dead After Mercury Collides With Two Vehicles in Winston-salem Crash, Investigation Underway

A man died in a multi-vehicle accident, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Officers reported a traffic crash in the 2500 block of Clemmonsville Road at about 2:11 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers arrived to find a three-vehicle accident.

According to officials, the first investigation found that a Mercury was going east on Clemmonsville Road when it crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a Dodge and a Ford.

The Mercury’s driver, 82-year-old Larry Griffin, died at the site.

According to officials, the driver of the Dodge was brought to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the Ford was unharmed in the collision.

The WSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit is conducting an investigation.
