On Wednesday, Santa Rosa Airport received an unprecedented 6.92 inches of rain, surpassing many records.
This sum not only beat the previous daily record of 1.08 inches established in 2012, but it also shattered the record of 6.09 inches set on October 24, 2021.
The National Weather Service confirmed the remarkable event, pointing out that the airport’s rainfall records go back to June 1998. The deluge highlights the severity of the current storm system in Northern California.
While the data is preliminary, official climatic statistics will be available from the National Centers for Environmental Information.
This uncommon event emphasizes the importance of continuing observation as weather patterns become more unpredictable.
