A head-on incident in Spartanburg County killed one person and injured three others, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers reported the incident occurred Monday around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 417 near Chicken Foot Creek Road, roughly 6 miles north of Woodruff, South Carolina.
According to troopers, a 2008 Buick Lucerne was headed north on Highway 417 and a 2008 Kia Sportage SUV was traveling south on the same road.
According to troopers, the Kia crossed left of center and collided with the Buick head-on.
Troopers reported that the driver of the Kia died.
The coroner identified the driver as Eddie Bellew, 67.
They also stated that emergency medical personnel sent a passenger in the Kia, the driver, and a passenger in the Buick, to Spartanburg Regional for treatment.
