A major storm system is forecast to land in Oklahoma and northern Texas tonight and continue through Monday morning. Severe weather is anticipated to get more severe during this time.
Extreme weather, including tornadoes, strong winds, and heavy rainfall, is a possibility. The danger of damaging winds and possible tornadoes also increases as the system moves in from northern Mexico and moves closer to the United States.
It is forecast to rain between one and three inches, which will increase the likelihood of flooding. A Flood Watch has been issued. The conditions will also be hazardous due to the presence of strong gusts of forty to fifty miles per hour, particularly through the early afternoon on Monday.
The National Weather Service (NWS) encouraged the general public to remain vigilant for quickly shifting weather conditions and to adhere to safety procedures.
