Berlin Crash: One Dead, Another Injured After Head-on Collision on Christian Lane

According to the Berlin police department, a two-vehicle crash killed one person and injured another on Thursday evening.

Christian Lane has reopened after being closed between Route 9 and Deming Road for an investigation, according to police.

At 3:24 p.m., first responders arrived at the scene of the crash near Christian Lane.

According to authorities, a preliminary investigation revealed that one of the vehicles crossed the middle lane and crashed head-on with an oncoming vehicle for unknown reasons.

The drivers of both automobiles were sent to the hospital with injuries.

Police said one of the drivers, Ronald Procko, 67, of New Britain, suffered life-threatening injuries and died later.

The other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is aiding in the inquiry. Berlin police are encouraging witnesses to contact them if they have any more information.
