A two-vehicle crash in North Chicago on Sunday night killed one person and injured five others.
Around 8:10 p.m., the North Chicago Police and Fire Departments responded to a collision between a GMC Suburban and a Chevy Silverado in the 1400 block of Grove Avenue.
Upon arrival, emergency workers discovered six injured people, two of whom were in critical condition. All six were sent to surrounding hospitals for treatment.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office revealed on Monday that one of the critically injured individuals, Giovanni Robinson, 24, died as a result of his injuries.
Robinson, who was originally from Merrillville, Indiana, and had recently moved to North Chicago, died as a result of blunt force injuries from the incident.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
