On Friday, sections of Central Texas received more than an inch of rain from scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. As a strong cold front approaches east, we’ll see a drying trend tonight, with only a slight risk of rain in the early morning hours of Saturday.
Overnight lows will fall into the 50s in many areas, with some 40s likely in the Hill Country.
Weekend Forecast
We’ll preserve a sprinkling risk for the first few hours after daybreak on Saturday, but your weekend will be mostly dry, with more sunshine on Saturday and warmer temps on Sunday.
Highs should remain in the 80s into the middle of next week when our next cold front drops us back into the 70s with little hope for rain.
Tracking the Tropics
Rafael has weakened into a tropical storm as it continues to meander around the Gulf of Mexico. It’s about to hit a brick wall, which will cause it to weaken and dive south. There is no projected impact on Texas other than slightly larger waves.
