Weather Alert in North Texas: Heavy Rain, Flooding, and Storms Expected in Dallas-fort Worth

NORTH TEXAS –Texas meteorologists have issued a Weather Alert Day for Friday due to widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

The tornado watch that covered the entire metroplex has ended. By noon Friday, these places had already received 4″-7″ of rain, with another 2″-3″ possible into the evening. Never drive through covered streets since it is impossible to determine the depth of the water.

The majority of Dallas-Fort Worth is in marginal or low danger of storms, with flooding being the primary issue. These storms may produce small hail, wind gusts of up to 60 mph, and even an isolated tornado.

Coverage will increase when the front and related storms approach Dallas-Fort Worth between 5 and 7 p.m.

There was a 40% to 50% probability of storms Friday morning, which increased to roughly 90% later in the day as the cold front approached and stalled.

During the evening commute in Dallas-Fort Worth, storms will bring heavy rain. Colder temperatures remain after the rain has passed. North Texas will see cool, fall mornings, with temperatures dropping into the 40s next week.

North Texas is in for a gorgeous weekend, with sunny skies and temps in the 70s.
