Black Mesa State Park officials announced on social media on Thursday that they had already gotten approximately 7 inches of snow.
The park, which is now under a winter storm warning that expires at 6 p.m. Friday, may receive further snow.
The National Weather Service predicted that an extra 10 inches of snow might fall between now and when the warning expires. As of 4:20 p.m. Thursday, temperatures were hovering around 30 degrees.
Given the perilous conditions, park officials discouraged visitors from visiting the park.
