The volunteers are from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lexington, Kentucky Drew Millar, Stake President, organized 100 volunteers from the congregations he serves to help in Asheville.
They joined 100 other Kentucky residents who attend different congregations throughout the state.
“A lot of trees are down, big trees and so a lot of chainsaws and sawing things up and taking them out to the road to be picked up, but then also some flood damage from basements, mucking out basements, ripping up carpets, you know, tearing out drywall,” Millar told me.
Asheville residents expressed their gratitude for the assistance they got over the weekend.
The American Red Cross is still accepting donations to help communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
