8-year-old Boy Left in Critical Condition After Falling Solemn Sprite Statue Collapses at Arizona Biltmore Resort

An eight-year-old boy was gravely injured when a “Solemn Sprite” statue fell on him at a luxury resort in Arizona.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at the posh Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix.

Phoenix Fire Captain Todd Keller told Arizona Family that shards of concrete from the monument fell on the boy, causing him to sustain serious head injuries.

The boy was brought to the hospital in “extremely critical condition” and is currently struggling for his life while breathing through a tube.

Video video showed the aftermath of the statue’s collapse on the hotel grounds.

It is unclear what caused the monument to fall, and an inquiry into the matter is currently underway.

According to Biltmore’s website, the resort is noted for its 19 Solemn Sprite statues, which pay homage to Greek mythology.

Following the incident, Arizona Biltmore issued a statement saying, “Our top priority is the safety of our guests, and our thoughts are with the family impacted by today’s events.”
