A man is facing charges following an incident in Fall River.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, officers responded to a disturbance at an address on Lawton Street shortly after 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.
When cops arrived, they discovered 34-year-old Yukeny Fletcher bleeding from his arm following an apparent dispute. Fletcher refused to let authorities and EMS check his injuries. He continued to threaten officers and finally began hurling objects at them as they attempted to calm the situation. Fletcher allegedly threw a rug and a mop at one of the policemen, striking him in the arm.
Officers later determined that Fletcher had gotten into an argument earlier in the evening at another place. During that altercation, he reportedly struck many pieces of glass with his bare hands, causing injuries to his hand and arm.
Fletcher was eventually arrested and sent to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of his wounds.
He was brought into jail by Rhode Island State Police since he was in their jurisdiction for medical treatment. The Fall River Police will pursue extradition as a fugitive from justice.
