Texarkana Homeless Coalition to hold 2nd Annual Resource Day

2nd Annual Resource Day

The Texarkana Homeless Coalition (TXKHC) is pleased to announce the upcoming 2nd Annual Resource Day, scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 14th.

Visitors are welcome from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Crossties Event Venue on 324 East Broad Street, Texarkana, AR. This event is a collaborative effort of nonprofit organizations aimed at meeting the needs of the homeless and those living in poverty, and the entire community is invited to participate and contribute to these vital efforts.

Resource Day is designed to connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness or near-homelessness with essential services. The event will provide free essential items, as well as a wide range of resources and tools necessary for individuals to overcome challenges and improve their circumstances. Corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies will be on hand to offer various services.

Vashil Fernandez, Chair of the Texarkana Homeless Coalition, is enthusiastic about the event and urges the local community and organizations to get involved in this noble cause.

“This day offers an abundance of resources to a segment of our community that is in great need,” said Fernandez. “It also presents an opportunity to foster stronger relationships within the community and advance our goal of providing sustainable solutions to those who face these challenges daily.”

The services provided during Resource Day includes distribution of hygiene kits, dental care, haircuts, showers, housing information, food, personal care products, veterans’ services, medical care, mental health support, assistance with Texas identification cards, employment counseling, job placement services, and clothing.

Individuals who are interested in volunteering or making donations are encouraged to contact Vashil Fernandez at vashil.fernandez@txkusa.org or (903) 798-3904.
