TEXARKANA — Parents and caregivers will have the chance to have their child safety seats inspected to ensure they meet current safety standards Monday, April 10 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Texarkana, Texas.
The event is being sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Northeast Traffic Safety Coalition, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Due to the limited time for the inspections, parents and caregivers are encouraged to contact Gabriel Project at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 903-277-3253 to set up an appointment to make sure their vehicle is checked.
Replacement car seats will be provided to participants with substandard safety seats for qualifying Texas residents. Participants should be sure to bring proof of residency (such as a utility bill) and proof of government assistance (WIC or Medicare card). The child using the seat must be present and parents must know the weight and height of the child.
