QUEEN CITY, Tx. — In a must win for the Queen City Boys 17-10 (6-3) to keep pace with the leaders of the district, they would host the New Boston Lions 8-18 (6-3). The game followed the Lady Dogs and their win with a great crowd in Eugene Sloan Gymnasium Friday night.
New Boston had won the first contest between the 2 teams in first round of district play but a surging Bulldog team would not be denied tonight. In some questionable no call situations for both sides, both teams pushed thru to make the game very exciting before the Bulldogs took control in the middle of third period. Austin Lowe, Josh Henry and Easton Fincher played some great defense with Tyler Nolen, Lowe and Alex Carver supplying the offense for the Bulldogs.
In a tight game, the Bulldogs took over the game in the middle of the 3rd period and never looked back with a final score of 59 – 49. This win puts the Queen City Bulldogs in a tie for 2nd place with New Boston, Dangerfield holds the top spot with a district record of 8 – 1, their 1 loss due to the hands of the Bulldogs.
