DAINGERFIELD, TEXAS-The Atlanta Rabbits looked like the Atlanta Rabbits of old Friday night at Daingerfield. The Rabbits dominated the Tigers in a 34-19 victory evening up their record at 1-1.
The 1-2 punch of QB Andrew Samples (18 rushes for 150 yards and 2 TD’s completing 4 of 8 passes for 95 yards and 2 TD’s) and RB Jawan King (22 rushes for 136 yards 1 TD) paced a Rabbit Offense that rolled up 312 total yards against the Tigers. Austin Brown added 2 touchdowns on 2 catches for 64 yards.
Andrew Samples was named the Rushing Pest Control player of the game. Reggie Blayolck was named the Red River Lumber defensive player of the game.
“We ran the ball really well offensively and that was something we wanted to do going into the game,” Matt McLure, Atlanta Rabbits head football coach said. “Defensively I challenged them guys to get turnovers, we didn’t get that in week one. We got some key turnovers defensively which led to more possessions.”
Coach Mclure said that he thought the kids rebounded well from week one and played with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement and he’s really proud of their effort.
Atlanta Rabbits have bye next week
The Atlanta Rabbits have a bye next Friday. However, the Atlanta Rabbits will be back in action Friday September 22nd at Home at Atlanta Rabbits stadium.
