NEW BOSTON, TEXAS-On a night the Rabbits could do very little wrong they ran past the New Boston Lions 54-8. The Rabbits scored early and often rolling up a 27-0 lead at halftime. The Rabbit Tandem on QB Andy Samples and RB Jawan King called it a night at the half giving way to back ups QB Slayton Holland and a host of Running Backs to take care of the 2nd half. Draw Nelson drew the running back assignment to start the 2nd half, toting the rock 4 times for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nelson finished the night with 7 totes for 105 yards and 3 TD’s before giving way to Nick Washington 3 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown and Charlie Powell 3 carries for 72 yards and a TD.
King ran for 113 yards on 13 carries and 2 touchdowns in the first half while Samples carried twice for 39 yards and a TD while hitting on 5 of 10 passes including a 21 yard touchdown to Kade Wood.
Rabbits defense was superb
The Rabbit defense had a superb night holding the Lions out of the end zone until 8:35 left in the game when Deaundre Robinson hit Kyler Murphy with an 18 yard touchdown pass. Robinson then ran in the 2 point conversion for the Lions only points.
Luke Anthony picked off a pass and returned it 91 yards to the New Boston 9 yard line to turn back another Lion Score.

Hunter Belk was named the Red River Lumber Defensive Player of the game. Belk saw limited action but every time he was on the field he stood out making plays.
Dra Nelson was awarded the Rushing Pest Control player of the game for his 7 carries for 105 yards and 3 Touchdowns.
