TYLER, TEXAS-The Atlanta Rabbits racked up 434 yards in total offense in a 42-21 rout over Kemp in the area championship football game at Tyler Rose Stadium Friday.
The KPYN player of the game, Andy Samples played a huge roll for the Rabbits. Samples completed 6-of-11 passes for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns. Samples rushed the ball 17 times for 106 yards and caught a touchdown pass from Cade Wood on a trick play.
Rabbits running back Jawan King totted the pig skin for 45 yards. However, Dra Nelson was the leading running back for Atlanta. He carried the ball 10 times for 73 yards and a touchdown and he caught a touchdown pass.
Cade Wood played a great game for the Rabbs. He threw the touchdown pass to Samples on the trick play and he had an interception that iced the win for Atlanta.
“Great team victory we played well in all 3 phases, offense defense and special teams,” Matt McClure, Atlanta Rabbits head football coach said. “We came out in the second half and were very physical. The Kids came ready to play and an unusual time and we had great fan support. I’m proud we advanced one more round.”
Atlanta will play Mount Vernon at a day and time to be announced. Mount Vernon defeated Dallas Madison in their area playoff game Friday.
