Atlanta OC Is Named Athletic Director at New Boston

New Boston — Atlanta’s Craig Fant has accepted the position of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at New Boston ISD.

Fant who has been the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach for the past 6 years is grateful for his time at Atlanta. “We loved our time in Atlanta its been a wonderful experience.” Fant continued ” I really appreciate all the hard work our kids have put in there it has been a lot of fun, but the time is right”.

Fant came to Atlanta with current Atlanta AD Matt McClure from Texas High. Fant served as Strength and Offensive Line Coach from 2005-2011. When asked about his time working with Matt McClure he said “Matt McClure is the best guy in Texas to work for”.

New Boston’s Athletic Director position opened earlier this year following the departure of Jamey Thomas who held AD position at New Boston from 2013-2017. Fant is honored to be named AD at New Boston ” I’m very honored for the opportunity to go to New Boston”. Fant continued ” New Boston has a very proud tradition of success”.

Fant served as Athletic Director/Head Football Coach of his alma mater Linden-Kildare (Class of 1988) from 2002-2005. He also had previous stops at West Orange Stark, Sweeny, and Industrial High Schools.

Fant played Defensive Line for the Henderson State Reddies where he was an Academic All American in 1991.
