The Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce Moonlight Madness sale and Karaoke contest Sunday night in downtown Atlanta was a huge success. The event drew thousands and they seemed to have a great time.

Numerous downtown merchants and vendors hosted sales till late in the evening. A massive crowd watched 30 performers compete in a karaoke contest. The contest that took on a concert type atmosphere. Aaron Whitehead from the Atlanta Chamber was the contest’s MC.

Richard Bowden, Kim Crump and Robert DelGiorno were the judges for the Karaoke contest.  Red River Lumber, TJ Bolt Construction, Mays Lone star Flooring, Cass County Bank and KPYN were the sponsors.

Atlanta Area Chamber moonlight madness karaoke contest competition was close

The competition in the Karaoke contest was close. Four people ended up tied so there was a Sing-Off to decide the winner. Two of the singers sang “Old McDonald” and two others sang “Itsy Bitsy Spider.”

Clayton Sweeny was the first place winner after the sin-off and he won the $400 grand prize. Sara Tyson came in second place, Holli Benefield was third and Nikki Wood finished fourth.

Aaron Whitehead with the Atlanta Area Chamber of commerce said that was pleased with the attendance. Whitehead said the Atlanta community is always supportive.

“The talent was off the charts,” Whitehead said. “I’d like to remind everyone to continue to shop local and support the businesses that do everything they can to put together wonderful events for Atlanta.”

Shoppers who took advantage of sales downtown were eligible for door prizes. KPYN is the radio station for the Texas Rangers games live on the radio and they gave away a grand prize trip for two the Texas Rangers Astros game on September 25th. The trip includes two tickets to the game, round trip transportation on the Fox Sports Southwest Fan Express, Rangers merchandise, and concession stand money.
