Lady Bulldogs wins district championship

Redwater, Tx. — Tonight the Queen City Lady Bulldogs made history with a win tonight over the Redwater Lady Dragons, 51 – 46.  This is the 1st time ever in school history that a girls team from Queen City had won the district championship.

The Lady Bulldogs came out in their normal fashion in the 1st half, streaming along the competition and then in 2nd half, taking over and winning with big shots and crucial defensive plays.  With a sore knee, Jessica Jones, lead the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points, along Jacie Lance pouring in 13 and not to be out done Tierra Johnson added a double double, 10 point and 10 rebounds.
The lady Bulldogs are now 19 – 6 ( 12 – 0 ).  They are guaranteed the playoffs which will take place on Monday, February 13th vs Chisum or Praireiland in a arena yet to be determined.  Coach Janice McMellon ( J-Mac ) was very pleased with the girls effort and looks forward to the playoffs, but still have 2 games left.
This Friday’s game will be in Hooks, and then Tuesday night, February 7th, will be Senior Night at Eugene Sloan Gymnasium.
